Nestled amidst the waters of the Caribbean Sea, Anguilla is a paradise waiting to be explored, and our romantic getaway to this island was nothing short of extraordinary. Let me start by saying that out of all the places I’ve traveled to in this world, Anguilla had the friendliest people. And I’m not just talking about the individuals at the hotel, I mean everyone on the island was kind and so welcoming!

How We Got There
We traveled to Anguilla from Dallas to with a quick layover in Miami. Since we experienced no delays (can’t say the same about the travel on the way back) the travel was pretty seamless. You can also travel to the island via Sint Maarten which is another Caribbean Island nearby, and take a ferry to Anguilla.
Day One
Our stay at the Malliouhana Hotel elevated our experience to new heights, offering the perfect blend of luxury, relaxation, and unparalleled hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and immediately felt like we were at home. We kicked off the week with refreshing welcome cocktails and live music at Leon's, a cute spot on the property that set the tone for our stay. I had a delicious mojito while Martin enjoyed his first of many rum punches!
Our culinary journey commenced with a visit to Tasty's POV, where we indulged in flavors that danced on our palates. The restaurant was recommended by our hotel concierge so we knew it would be good. While I savored every bite of the oxtail, Martin enjoyed the lobster, which IMO is a testament to the island's bountiful seafood offerings.

Day Two
Day two consisted of a much-needed lazy day. Lounging by the pool in our private cabana, we enjoyed champagne and fresh fruit, basking in the sun-kissed ambiance. A visit to Blanchard’s Beach Shack treated us to mouthwatering jerked chicken sandwiches, followed by a blissful day spent soaking in the sun and walking on the perfect beaches at Meads Bay.

The attentive Malliouhana team ensured that every moment of our stay was nothing short of perfection, whether we were lounging by the pool or strolling along the sandy shores. As the sun dipped below the horizon, we experienced the captivating Social Sundown at the hotel, where panoramic views painted the sky with hues of orange and pink, creating an unforgettable backdrop for an evening to remember.
Dining at Salt at the Four Seasons proved to be a culinary delight, as we relished in the exquisite flavors of crayfish risotto and branzino, expertly prepared to tantalize our taste buds. We also got to watch sea turtles swimming in the cove while we had dinner. Needless to say, it was a core memory.
Day Three
Day three was filled with aquatic adventures, as we immersed ourselves in the crystal-clear waters, swimming and paddleboarding most of the day. Surprisingly, it was both of our first time’s paddleboarding and I hate to brag but we were pretty good (for first timer’s). A visit to Sharky's provided yet another unreal feast, with lobster risotto and oxtail leaving us craving for more.
To be honest, this was my favorite meal of the week. As much as I loved a boujie restaurant, the local spots already take the W.
Day Four
Our exploration of the island continued on day four, as we embarked on a journey throughout the island on our cute white Moke! I lived my best passenger princess life as Martin took the wheel (per usual). We hit up Rendezvous Bay, the Anguilla Arch and ended the journey at Scilly Cay, a private island paradise off the coast of Anguilla.

Here, we indulged in the freshest lobster straight from the ocean, marveling at the open kitchen where skilled chefs transformed seafood into culinary masterpieces before our eyes. I even got to hold a live lobster and although I almost had a panic attack, it was such a cool experience.
As the sun began to set on our final night, we retreated to the Malliouhana for a private dinner, savoring every moment of the intimate setting. From the rich flavors of goat meat stew to the delicate perfection of lobster linguine, each dish was a celebration of Anguilla's culinary prowess.
I don’t think I’ve EVER been so sad leaving a trip. On our way to the airport, we grabbed a quick lunch at E’s Oven and Restaurant to help with the sadness and we shared the crayfish tails (SO AMAZING) and I got the creole conch while Martin got the seafood pasta (half of which was eaten by yours truly).
Our time on this enchanting island was a testament to the beauty of Anguilla and the unparalleled hospitality of the Malliouhana Hotel. For those seeking a romantic getaway filled with luxury, adventure, and culinary delights, I cannot recommend Anguilla and Malliouhana highly enough. It truly is a destination where dreams become reality.
With Love,
